Placing Links To Your Site On Prominent Websites Can Increase The Amount of Targeted Traffic To Your Site

There are many free and paid advertising methods to gain targeted traffic to your website.  One free advertising method that works well is getting links on other prominent websites.

Getting links on other prominent websites that are in or closely related to your niche or industry can lead to a great deal of targeted traffic to your website, being that the visitors to the other website are interested in topics you likely deal with.  That will make it more likely that they’ll be greatly interested in your product offers as well.

There are several ways you can get links on other prominent websites.  You can contact the owner of the website and ask for a link exchange, where you place a link on his/her site and he/she places a link on your site.  You could also provide a free service or access to a paid product in return for having a permanent link on his/her site.

Sometimes, sites will offer you a chance to place a link on their websites.  You need to keep an eye out for these chances so you can take advantage of them when they become available.

The more links you can place on other prominent websites, the more people who will see it, and if those sites are closely related to yours, will likely lead to you getting more targeted visitors to your site, gaining more subscribers, and with good follow-up, more sales.

This is very true. I think the most important aspect is relevancy: you want links from same topic, or industry websites. This will serve as a pre-selection of your future readers; they will want to know more and jump to your website afterwards.
