Finding prospective affiliates

By jdmunoz On November 12, 2009 Under Managing Affiliates

The interconnectedness of the Internet today can make your job of finding prospective affiliates much easier than if this interconnectedness did not exist.

The reason why interconnectedness is so useful to you as an affiliate program owner who is looking to increase the size of his/her affiliate sales force is that there are so many forums, blogs, newsletters, and other online group sites that gather many members of the same niche.

As a result, you only have to visit a few sites at most in order to be able to find and communicate with many top-performing affiliates.

The best way to go about recruiting these top-performing affiliates is to become a member of the forum, blog, newsletter, or other site, read through the threads or comments and find places where you can comment, determine who are the most accomplished sellers or affiliates of that forum, newsletter, blog, etc., and present your proposal of joining your affiliate program to them.

By providing valuable posts to the community, you are showing that you have knowledge about that industry and that your products will have useful knowledge in them, something that will appeal to those affiliates because their target markets would likely be very interested in what you have to offer.  And if those affiliates can provide that product to their lists, their reputations will be improved and their bottom lines will increase.

Therefore, it’s a win-win situation for you to become a member of the community top-performing affiliates are a part of and provide meaningful posts before attempting to recruit those top-performing affiliates into your affiliate program.
