Creating compelling back-end products

By jdmunoz On September 12, 2009 Under Backend Marketing Tips

To create compelling back-end product offers, you need to find out exactly what your previous customers want.  The best way to determine what they want is to do some research, and being that you have their email addresses already, all you really have to do is to ask them what they want, whether you ask them the question directly or provide a survey with some choices for them to choose from (including a choice for “Other,” and let them fill in what they have in mind for you to create as your next product offer.)

It’s amazing how many businesses don’t take advantage of this valuable resource – the fact that they have loyal customers who purchase from them on a regular basis, yet they don’t ask their customers what they want to see in future product offers.  They waste much time, money, and resources into creating product offers that their loyal customers have little to no interest in.

By asking your customers what they really want, you save yourself time, money, and resources that you can use to create the product offers they really want and to market it effectively so that not only your back-end customers will purchase it, but new customers will as well.

This is one reason why it’s important to build a separate list of your back-end customers who have purchased from you before – to make it easy to email them and ask them what they want to see in your future product offers.
