Common Mistakes When Marketing With Freebies

If you’ve decided to use a free product offer to build your customer list, you want to avoid some common mistakes that can cost you time and money. You want to use a product that ties into your paying line of products, and doesn’t veer to the left or right. In other words, if you are offering exercise programs to lose weight, don’t offer a book on free diet programs to lose weight. They may seem to be in the same niche, but they aren’t. One targets people interested in losing weight with diets, and another targets a different demographic of people who want to lose weight through exercise. Instead, always keep the free product line as a narrow as your paying product line.

Another way that you can shoot yourself in the foot with freebies is to offer a resource section that sends people to other sites, even affiliates. Instead, the free product should always send people back to your site, even for affiliate offers.
