How to Turn Rabid Customers into Traffic Generators

By jdmunoz On August 5, 2009 No Comments

One of the greatest assets your business can have is a satisfied customer. This is especially true when that satisfied customer comes back again and again and purchases more of your products.

While you appreciate all that business, have you ever considered turning those ardent customers into a means of generating more traffic to your site? Here are a couple of ideas on how you can do just that.

One of the simplest ways to harness the power of your existing customer base is to offer incentives and rewards for referring new customers. A simple referral program is all you need to accomplish this.

For the sake of both your customers and your own peace of mind, keep the program relatively simple and straightforward. What you want to happen is for your customer to recommend your products to friends and relatives, and help to create more sales.

Create a Referral Program

Putting together a working referral program does not have to be complicated. Essentially, you need a mechanism so that you know which new customer was referred by your existing customer.

This can be managed by simply creating a special link that you give to your customer. Whenever anyone uses that link as the portal to your online store, you know which customer to credit with the referral.

Make it easy for your customer to refer new potential customers. Provide them with a solid email text or a brochure saved in PDF format that they can pass on either by forwarding the email or printing out the brochure and passing it on to people of their acquaintance. Just make sure that URL is branded to let you track who made the referral.

A second approach is to invite your best customers to become affiliates. The extension of a personal invitation to your rabid customers may generate some interest where a generic approach would fall on deaf ears.

Point out that there are no charges associated with becoming an affiliate, but there are plenty of benefits. Outline the basics of your affiliate program so that your customer understands how beneficial signing up can be.

The Advantage to Getting Customers to be Affiliates

There are certainly advantages to you if a rabid customer chooses to become an affiliate. First, the customer already knows your product line and has firsthand experience with your products.

That can help to make selling the products a lot easier. Second, there is already rapport established between you and the new affiliate. This rapport can easily be built upon so that the relationship expands to include the new aspects of the relationship.

Look closely at your client list and identify a few rabid customers who you think have potential as affiliates. Taking the time to do this could yield big rewards in a very short period of time.

The Difference Between an Ebook and a Report

By jdmunoz On June 10, 2009 No Comments

Another product idea to use as a back-end product offer is reports. You probably are asking, “What’s the difference between an ebook and a report?”

As mentioned on Page 11 of “Back-end Secrets Revealed,” a report tells the facts and sticks to just the facts, while an ebook will often include commentary on how to use the information presented, as well as other information that a report will leave out.

It’s up to you to determine whether an ebook or a report would be best received by your past customers. If your customers prefer a lot of hard facts and not much else, you should probably consider creating a report to present as a back-end product offer to them. However, if they like some commentary from you on how to utilize this information, as well as showing some of your personality, you probably would be better off creating an ebook to present as a back-end product offer to them.

You could try both an ebook and a report as back-end product offers and ask them to provide feedback on which they prefer. You could also consider the products you’ve created in the past and see how much other information besides the cold, hard facts you’ve presented. Then determine how well those products were received; if they were well-received, ebooks may be the better bet for you to present as back-end product offers.

You need Other People Promoting your products

By jdmunoz On December 6, 2008 No Comments

To really make sizable profits online, you need other people promoting your products, as you yourself will not be able to reach the entire market you are serving, as this is virtually impossible, even with the Internet.  Other people will have connections and relationships to members of the market you want to reach.  These people may also have innovative strategies and techniques you may not have considered before in promoting your products.

Therefore, you need to recruit these people to become your affiliates.  An affiliate is a person who will promote your product/service for a share of the profits that are generated when a sale is made.  As a result, you will be able to reach more of the market you want to reach via the affiliates who promote your products to them.

In return, the affiliates will earn a portion of those sales for each sale they make.  At the very least, 50% of the profits should be theirs, and nowadays, the percentage should be higher – even 80-90% of the profits is not uncommon.  In fact, some marketers will offer 100% commissions for each sale their affiliates make, while the marketer makes money on the back-end via one-time offers, selling branded versions of ebooks, or via another offer such as offering a subscription to a paid membership site.
