MMP back-end marketing techniques- using add-on products

By jdmunoz On October 27, 2008 1 Comment

It’s very important when you add additional products to a main product to boost its perceived value and gain back-end profits that you price it fairly and accordingly to the value it truly provides.

While pricing an add-on product lower will make it almost a no-brainer for them to purchase it, it will not lead to many back-end profits for you, and if the add-on product you provided took a solid amount of time and/or money to produce, you should not sell it too cheaply just to get your past customers to purchase it.

To determine the fairest price for you to sell your add-on products to a product you’ve sold in the past, you should consider the following factors:

Time it took to create the add-on product.
Cost it took to create the add-on product.
How much perceived value in the eyes of your customers, not in your eyes, this add-on product will add to your previous product.  (You can conduct surveys of your list, ask in forums, and do some research to determine what the perceived value would be.)
Related to the item above, will this add-on product provide a significant upgrade to that main product or just a minor upgrade.

You should take all of the above to arrive at the fairest price (for both you and for your customers) for your add-on product.  If you’ve done your homework and calculated the perceived value accurately, chances are, your customers will see the value in this add-on product and be very eager to purchase it, increasing your back-end profits.

Managing Your Affiliates To increase your online profits

By jdmunoz On October 26, 2008 No Comments

To increase your online profits, it’s important to reach more of your target market with your product offers.  Having many affiliates promoting your product offers is a good way to increase your profits, but not all affiliates are considered equal in terms of their ability to effectively promote your product offers to the people they market them to.  Preferably, you really want to increase the number of super affiliates in your sales force in order to see a substantial rise in your profits.

Super affiliates are those affiliates who have a good deal of experience promoting and selling many products for many different marketers, with great success in making many sales.  As a result, super affiliates make sizable profits for both themselves and the owners of the products they are marketing.  This results in more marketers wanting those super affiliates to join their affiliate ranks so that they can boost the number of sales of their products, and thereby, their profits.

While there are some affiliates who become super affiliates almost overnight, most of them have built their way up from being a regular affiliate who makes a few sales here and there into an affiliate who almost always generates a lot of sales from just sending out some emails to his/her list(s) and recommends your product.  This is because these affiliates have learned what it takes to succeed at affiliate marketing through trial and error, as well as learning and applying what other super affiliates are doing to achieve their successful marketing results and profits.

Managing Your Affiliates strategies and techniques you may not have considered

By jdmunoz On October 26, 2008 No Comments

To really make sizable profits online, you need other people promoting your products, as you yourself will not be able to reach the entire market you are serving, as this is virtually impossible, even with the Internet.  Other people will have connections and relationships to members of the market you want to reach.  These people may also have innovative strategies and techniques you may not have considered before in promoting your products.

Therefore, you need to recruit these people to become your affiliates.  An affiliate is a person who will promote your product/service for a share of the profits that are generated when a sale is made.  As a result, you will be able to reach more of the market you want to reach via the affiliates who promote your products to them.

In return, the affiliates will earn a portion of those sales for each sale they make.  At the very least, 50% of the profits should be theirs, and nowadays, the percentage should be higher – even 80-90% of the profits is not uncommon.  In fact, some marketers will offer 100% commissions for each sale their affiliates make, while the marketer makes money on the back-end via one-time offers, selling branded versions of ebooks, or via another offer such as offering a subscription to a paid membership site.
